JAFFAMAN NEEDS YOU!

McVitie’s Jaffaman is coming to a town near you, and he wants you to get mucky for a good cause this April at the McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Mud Madness events in Portadown.

Over the last ten years, the Mud Madness events have raised more than £150,000 for leading palliative care charity Marie Curie, and now Jaffaman, the events’ new mascot, will be visiting all six counties as part of a NI-wide tour to encourage thrill-seekers of all ages to run, skip, jump, wade and wallow through varying depths of disgustingness, and do their bit for charity while doing so!

With his first port of call taking place tomorrow (Saturday, March 5th) in Omagh, over the next six weeks you can bring the family down to meet Jaffaman in Londonderry, Belfast, Belleek, and Portstewart to grab a selfie and nab some free Jaffa Cakes in the process!

Tim McAuley of McVitie’s is excited to introduce Jaffaman to the whole of Northern Ireland;

“For the last ten years, our Mud Madness events have proven themselves as one of the dirtiest and most popular experiences in the whole of Ireland and now we have Jaffaman on the campaign trail to get athletes of all abilities…or none, to come and have fun at Foymore Lodge.

“As a seasoned athlete in his own right, McVitie’s Jaffaman is the ideal ambassador for these events and we hope plenty of people will come down and say hello and ultimately, sign up for the event.”

Anne Hannan, Partnerships Manager at Marie Curie, said;

“Jaffaman has timed his tour of Northern Ireland perfectly as it coincides with our Great Daffodil Appeal so he will be joining our own mascot Daffy and volunteer collection teams across the six counties, encouraging registrations for the fantastic Mud Madness events but also helping raise vital funds that will allow Marie Curie to continue to care for people living with a terminal illness and support for their families – either in their own homes or at our Belfast Hospice.”

After a hugely successful event in September, the Mini Mud Madness event returns on Saturday, 16th April to allow little messers aged 6 – 16 the chance to get mucked up before the main event on Sunday, 17th April.
