Lighthouse Family are bringing the songs that made them one of Britain’s best-loved pop-soul duos to Belfast’s Waterfront Hall on Wednesday 3 March 2027.
The concert forms part of a UK and Ireland tour celebrating their debut album, Ocean Drive, alongside greatest hits from across their career. For Belfast fans, it means a chance to revisit a catalogue packed with familiar choruses, from “Lifted” and “Ocean Drive” to “High”.
A soundtrack that still lifts the spirits
Vocalist Tunde Baiyewu and songwriter, keyboardist and producer Paul Tucker formed Lighthouse Family in Newcastle in the early 1990s. Their partnership paired Baiyewu’s unmistakable voice with songs that found hope in difficult moments — a combination that helped them sell more than 15 million albums worldwide.
Released in 1995, Ocean Drive introduced listeners to “Lifted”, “Goodbye Heartbreak” and its title track. The album went on to achieve six-times platinum status in the UK, establishing the duo as a major presence on radio and in record collections.
Their follow-up, Postcards from Heaven, arrived in 1997 and brought another run of enduring favourites, including “High”, “Raincloud” and “Lost in Space”. It also reached six-times platinum status in the UK.
From Ocean Drive to Belfast
The duo released Whatever Gets You Through the Day in 2001 before returning with Blue Sky in Your Head in 2019. Their first studio album in 18 years reached number three in the UK album chart.
The Belfast date will bring the focus back to where that story began, with Ocean Drive at the heart of a show also drawing on their wider catalogue.
