ASDA GINSPIRES THE UK WITH NEW PREMIUM OWN BRAND FLAVOURED GINS FOR SUMMER

This summer, Asda has developed three new, Extra Special gin tipples, catering to the ever-growing love for the versatile spirit and everything pink.

A first for supermarkets in own-brand gins, the line-up now includes Extra Special Elderflower & Pink Grapefruit Gin Liqueur (£12), along with Extra Special Rhubarb & Ginger Gin Liqueur (£12), and Extra Special Pink Gin (£16), adding a bit of blush to summer drinks at home this season.

Helen Cook, Asda BWS product developer, comments: “Helen Cook, Asda Product Development Manager for Spirits, comments: “Gin sales have increased by 80% year-on-year at Asda, with our customers now looking for flavoured gins that complement the warm weather perfectly.

“We’ve seen several brands introduce pink and flavoured gins these last six months, so we’re excited to be introducing an own brand offering, providing quality bottles at an affordable price.”

Sharp, tangy and fragrant, the new gins are blended with Asda’s award-winning triple distilled, premium Extra Special Gin to create handcrafted liqueurs perfect for creating vivacious summer cocktails or G&Ts. Produced in copper stills in Warrington, Cheshire, the spirit is married with fruit liqueur crafted in Paris to create a bottle of homegrown gin, distilled three times to ensure a luxury, quality bottle of the UK’s favourite spirit.

Asda’s Extra Special Elderflower & Pink Grapefruit Gin Liqueur and Extra Special Rhubarb & Ginger Gin Liqueur are available in-store and online now, with the Extra Special Pink Gin launching next week.
