Father’s Day for the Wilson family is extra special

Asda in Ballyclare is celebrating Father’s Day with two generations of the same family who work side-by-side.

Trevor Wilson has worked at Asda Ballyclare for over 30 years, with Trevor’s 22-year-old son Aaron recently joining his dad at the store to follow in his footsteps and build a career within the business.

Aaron isn’t the only Asda colleague in Northern Ireland who has the privilege of going to work every day with their Dad, the Enniskillen, Portadown, Downpatrick and Omagh stores also have fathers who work with their children – it’s a real family affair!

Father, Trevor, a warehouse colleague said: “I love working for Asda and have the added bonus of being able to work alongside my son – how lucky am I! It fills me with great pride to see Aaron getting along so well with local customers and building great relationships with them. He is brilliant at his job!”

Aaron, who works on the checkouts added: “We’re a very close family and we get on very well, seeing the family responsibility stretch across the company is absolutely fantastic. Seeing how much my dad enjoyed working at Asda over the years, made me very excited to start my position there.”

Dawn Wilson, community champion at Asda Ballyclare, said: “You know what they say, blood is thicker than water and we can certainly vouch for that here. Trevor and Aaron are absolutely great and genuinely love working side by side in the store and we love having them.”
