It’s Summer and the sun has been shining which means that wedding season is upon us. Through his Wedding Planner service, David McConkey has the unique opportunity to visit and experience a full range of wedding venues, from the quirky to the grand. Finnebrogue Woods, Downpatrick

This stunning location in the heart of County Down offers something truly unique and memorable; set in a secluded area surrounded by lakes with Nordic Tipis as your venue, it will wow your guests. With a 30 acre lake and 200 acres of stunning woodland it provides a beautiful location to celebrate, capture magical wedding photography and do things a little bit differently.

It can host 165 seated and with only one wedding a weekend it’s ideal for larger wedding; the team are fully supportive with a full range of services to make the process as easy as possible. Your guests can enjoy some relaxing fishing or enjoy gentle walks along the paths.

The Carriage Rooms at Montalto, Ballynahinch

We’ve taken a look at this lovely venue in a previous blog but it really is one of David’s favourites. It’s elegance and opulence are set to enchant any couple and their guests. Set in 400 acres near Ballynahinch, County Down, this 19th Century Mill House offers everything to make your wedding day special.

It offers a perfect blend of Irish heritage and contemporary style, as well as offering both your ceremony and reception, so you can have the peace of mind of being in the one place all day. With various locations you have many options, for example the banquet hall is flexible and with a little clever planning can accommodate from 60 guests up to the capacity of 180!
