If you go down to Asda today you’re sure of a big surprise!
Asda’s 16-strong band of Community Champions are set to host Teddy Bear’s Picnics across Northern Ireland this July to kick-start the retailer’s 2017 fundraising campaign for BBC Children in Need. Each picnic will have traditional treats and fun and games including a tombola, spin and win wheel, colouring in and Pudsey-themed crafts.
George Rankin, Senior Director for Asda Northern Ireland explains:
“This is Asda’s 17th year as proud supporters of BBC Children in Need – it is such a worthy cause that makes a real difference to disadvantaged children within the local community here in Northern Ireland and across the UK. We’re inviting everyone to pop down with their favourite bear – and don’t worry if your ted is looking a little scruffy – we have special ‘Repair a Bear’ stations in store where you can bring your bear to get spruced up ahead of the picnic. With National Teddy Bear’s Picnic Day in July – there couldn’t be a better time to bring out your bears and join in the fun!”
Asda Portadown is the first store to host a picnic, and will take place in-store on Friday 15th July
