A new 8-piece disco, funk and soul band, The Groove Line, has just hit the streets of Belfast with their debut performance on the Royal Avenue Stage at Culture Night Belfast last month. If you missed them, fear not as they are back to boogie the night away at McHugh’s Bar on Saturday 13 October.
To celebrate the band’s launch, The Groove Line is offering Love Belfast followers the chance to win four tickets to their performance along with a three-course meal, bottle of wine and £40 bar tab on 13th October: CLICK HERE
The Groove Line was formed by Belfast based musician Phil Duffy who co-manages the band with drumming legend Ralph Rolle who plays for CHIC & Nile Rodgers! The group are professional musicians and between them, they have toured with some of the most recognised names in the music business including U2, Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds, Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, Duran Duran, Two Door Cinema Club, Primal Scream, AIR and Paul Weller.
Their extensive library of classic disco, funk & soul promises to keep the dancefloor packed all night long!
Phil Duffy says,
“Some of us have been playing together for a while but we are delighted to form The Groove Line with our new outstanding lead singer, Ciara Mackey. We had a fantastic reception at Culture Night and can’t wait to play again in McHughs. Having Ralph Rolle mentor and manage us has been a major source of inspiration. Working with someone with his knowledge & experience in the music business has been hugely beneficial to us as a band.
In McHughs we’ll be playing through some classic tunes by artists like CHIC, The Jackson Five, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Rose Royce, Daft Punk, Chaka Khan to name a few”
The Groove Line repertoire is lively and fun, perfect for weddings and events with dancefloors! Dancing shoes are compulsory!
