Stephen Clements accepts Translink’s rush hour travel challenge

Stephen Clements
– Radio DJ asks Northern Ireland ‘Why would you choose to do this?’ after his journey in busy commuter traffic

As part of Northern Ireland’s first ever Bus and Train Week, Stephen swapped his usual early morning commute to complete an evening rush-hour travel challenge, comparing the car versus the train.

Translink threw down the gauntlet to the broadcaster to find out what is the ‘best’ way to travel from Belfast to his home in Carrick, during peak traffic leaving the city.

Stephen had company in the form of his son Robbie for the train journey and he had a lot to say about his journey! Watch to find out how Stephen coped (or didn’t) with gridlock traffic versus hopping on-board the train

Bus and Train Week is a new initiative to encourage more people to give the bus and train a go, and to emphasise the importance of public transport to the economy and wider society. A series of events and celebrations have been taking place in stations, businesses and organisations across Northern Ireland during the week of the 6 June to 12 June.
