So your skint from buying your friends and family presents as well as destroying your christmas pay on alcohol and the sales. Can you have a great NYE for pennies?
The answer of course is yes, although chances are your not going to be getting into any clubs if your poor. Its not all bad though, as Love Belfast put together a guide on how to have a great NYE for chump change. Firstly we have to look at all the things that make a night out great.
Unless you’ve managed to find a few pound coins down the back of the seat you can kiss goodbye to heading to a nightclub or bar, so were better to get the party going than your own home! Everyone loves a house party, so lock away the valuables and get ready to party!
Nobody wants to see the new year in on their own crying into a can of Tesco value larger, so getting the party mood sorted is definitely important. Believe it or not you’re probably not the only one who’s feeling the pinch so get your mobile out and get your friends over! You don’t need to be inviting a project X size crowd as it only takes a few good mates for a good night in.
You can’t have a party without music and this New Years Eve you have a few options. If you’ve a friend who’s a bedroom DJ, get them round for some free mixing. You can tune into Cool FM as DJ Hix is doing a live broadcast from Sense Nightclub, Cookstown. If your not up for that you can always use your TV and tune into channel 4 as they’re broadcasting live music and mixes from DJ’s such as Annie Mac, Frankie Knuckles, Norman Jay and Hercules. It doesn’t start until 23:50 so you can always get onto itunes or spotify and get a playlist made for before hand.
Food and Drink
Don’t know why I mentioned food in the title for this one but as everyone knows its all about whats in your cup on new years eve. As your skint you cant afford to be going out and buying a trolley load of stuff so when your texting friends tell them to bring a bottle. Its a great way to build up lots of drink. Tescos also do loads of cocktails in a can so you can be classy alcoholics.
And that’s just about it. Push your sofa back, crack open the cheap wine your friend still has from works secret Santa and have fun!
If house parties aren’t your thing and you’ve 20 quid lying around come party at the many bars and clubs in Belfast. Check out the nightlife section in www.facebook.com/lovebelfastcity/
