For the first time since the famous “Invincibles” era of 2004, Arsenal F.C. are Premier League champions once again after Manchester City F.C. were held to a 1-1 draw away to AFC Bournemouth.

The result officially handed the title to Mikel Arteta’s side and sparked celebrations across North London and among Arsenal supporters around the world.

After years of near misses, second-place finishes and growing pressure, Arsenal have finally delivered the consistency and resilience needed to get over the line in what has been one of the most competitive Premier League eras in recent memory.

Under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have transformed from a rebuilding side into champions. Since taking charge in December 2019, the Spaniard has steadily reshaped the club both on and off the pitch, building a squad capable of competing with Europe’s elite.

This season has been the reward for years of progress.

Arsenal have spent the vast majority of the campaign at the top of the table, combining defensive discipline with a maturity that had sometimes been missing during previous title challenges. Their ability to grind out narrow victories in recent weeks proved decisive, with several crucial 1-0 wins helping maintain their advantage over Manchester City.

The defining moment arrived after Arsenal’s victory over Burnley F.C. earlier this week left City needing maximum points to stay alive in the title race. However, dropped points on the south coast confirmed Arsenal as champions before the final day of the season.

For many supporters, this triumph represents more than simply winning a trophy.

Arsenal’s last league title came in 2004 during the legendary unbeaten campaign under Arsène Wenger. Since then, the club endured periods of transition, criticism and frustration while rivals dominated English football.

The emotional weight of ending that wait will make this title particularly special for fans who have stood by the club through the highs and lows of the last two decades.

At just 44 years old, Arteta also becomes one of the youngest managers ever to win the Premier League, further cementing his growing reputation as one of football’s elite coaches.

Yet Arsenal’s season may not be finished just yet.

The London side still have the opportunity to complete a historic campaign when they face Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in the upcoming Champions League final later this month — a match that could deliver European glory alongside domestic success.

For now though, Arsenal supporters will simply enjoy the moment they have waited 22 years for.

The Premier League trophy is finally heading back to the Emirates.
