Lovers of Rock ‘n’ Roll, fine food and a great night of entertainment are being asked to pull on their Blue Suede Shoes and get All Shook Up at the Legend’s Gala Ball at Titanic Belfast on Saturday 23rd June. Funds raised through the black tie event hosted by Team CCU32, along with another major fundraising challenge in August, will go to local charity, The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity.
Team CCU32 is a group of three determined runners, all from Belfast, who will be undertaking the gruelling task of 32 consecutive marathons, in 32 days, across all 32 counties in Ireland later this Summer. The aim of the challenge is to raise as much money as possible to go towards buying a new Ultrasound Scanner for the Children’s Cancer Unit at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
Noel McNally, member of Team CCU32, explained the excitement around their evening on the 23rd June. He said: “A lot of planning and preparation has gone into the Legend’s Gala Ball, so it promises to be a brilliant night for our guests. There will be some of the country’s best entertainment, including The King – Jim Brown, a special charity auction and other exciting activities on the night. Tickets are selling fast though, so if you want to be there you had better get yours fast!
“We are really excited for the Ball ourselves – not only because it will be a fantastic event, but also because it will be our last night out before the challenge that awaits us in August. After this, we plan to get our heads down again and focus our full attention on those 32 marathons ahead. We hope as many people as possible can come out and help us support The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity.”
Team CCU32 will begin their 32 marathons challenge on Thursday 2nd August and will complete it in Belfast on Sunday 2nd September. Other amateur or experienced runners are encouraged to join them during the routes in their area.
