Dial M for Murder in the Grand Opera House Belfast
21 – 25 April 2015
“I think everyone enjoys a nice murder… provided he is not the victim. ”
Margot Wendice is an innocent woman; she must be, as criminals don’t reside in desirable London postcodes. And yet, she finds herself caught twice in an intricate and devious murder plot: first as the intended victim, then as the reluctant killer. There is a body in the study, but whose is it and how did it get there?
Following their sell-out run of Noël Coward’s Brief Encounter, Wireless Mystery Theatre recreate the elegant craft, glamour, and high anxiety of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic tale of suspense, in their own inimitable style. Based on the original screenplay, but very much in homage to Hitchcock’s cinematic masterpiece, Dial M for Murder boasts a stellar cast of Wireless Mystery regulars, together with a lively ensemble of piano, violin, mandolin, and guitar.
Featuring Mark Claney as the fiendishly resourceful Tony Wendice, Geoff Hatt as Inspector Hubbard and Xander Duffy as the dashing Max Halliday. With Susan Davey reprising the role of Margot with all the elegance and poise you might expect from one of Hitchcock’s leading ladies.
