Whites Taven in Belfast to shut this Sunday
THE tenants at Whites Tavern in Belfast city centre are calling time in just under a week’s time.
They have announced on Twitter tonight: “We have 6 days left in our wee bar & beyond that we wish whoever sails her next only the best of luck.
“To our loyal customers, keep ‘er lit
“We are closing on Sunday Feb 2nd. We have chosen not to renew our lease, we’ve had an incredible 12 years.
“Thank you all who sailed with us.”
The pub has been in existence since 1640, making it one of Belfast’s oldest pubs.
The bar will definitely continue in one form or another.
The bar reverts to landlord beanchor & they are looking for bar staff http://t.co/4vQysUkVOH
UPDATE : @whitestavern: To clarify, Whites Tavern will continue, but with a different company running her. Apparently it will be closed for 10days for work.
