This Christmas, the MAC is excited to welcome families back to the theatre as they present The Untold Truth of Captain Hook, from 10 December – 1 January. Teaming up with the amazing Replay Theatre Company, the show sees a twist on famous characters such as Peter Pan and Captain Hook and is just the ticket this festive season.
With 6pm evening shows, weekend matinees, relaxed and access performances, there’ll be lots of fun along the way, with Lost Boys, shipwrecks, mermaids, crocodiles, and pirates. You may know the facts, but do you really know the truth?
Directed by Janice Kernoghan-Reid and starring a stellar local cast in Christopher Grant, Niomi Liberante and Keith Singleton, audiences can expect an epic, theatrical adventure through the time before Neverland, exploring how the best of brothers can become the worst of enemies, in this family show packed with excitement and charm.
Brian Mullan, CEO of Replay Theatre Company said, “At Replay we pride ourselves on making high-quality theatre for children all year round and we are delighted to be presenting the MAC’s Christmas show this year for the first time. The Untold Truth of Captain Hook is a festive swashbuckling adventure for all the family and we can’t wait to share it with audiences.”
Simon Magill, Creative Director of the MAC said, “We’re hosting this fabulous show in our socially distanced Downstairs Theatre, with all of the necessary safety mitigations in place. We have teamed up with the wonderful Replay Theatre Company for the reimagined tale of Captain Hook, with a fantastic cast and creative team ready to showcase this adventure filled version. In true MAC style, this show brings a twist to the popular story, as we hope to instill and renew the love for theatre, in our audiences who have, for over 18 months now, missed out on the opportunity to enjoy live performances and the magic of theatre.
The Untold Truth of Captain Hook at the MAC is the perfect way to renew long-standing Christmas traditions or create new memories with family and friends after such a difficult few months, through the gift of theatre.”
