THE one and only are making a long overdue return to Belfast’s Empire Music Hall in a blaze of glory. It promises to be another belter of an evening with Norn Iron’s aspiring stars taking to the stage with their renditions of the greatest rock anthems of all time (with ROCKAOKEa little disco and cheese thrown in for good measure!). The event will take place on Saturday 19th September and is in aid of local breast cancer charity Pretty ‘n’ Pink.
ROCKAOKE are the UK’s leading live rock band karaoke outfit. With a host of London residencies under their belt, they travelled the UK with former BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles on his farewell tour, performed at BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans’ Carefest in 2012 and 2013 and at the inaugural BBC 6 Music Festival in 2014.
A number of celebrities are among the 40,000 + aspiring rock stars who have performed with Rockaoke including Chesney Hawkes at Belfast’s Empire Music Hall, Patrick Kielty, James Cordon, Richard Hammond, Mel C, James Nesbitt, Denise Van Outen and Pink Floyd legend, Dave Gilmour.
Now YOU too can have the chance to live the dream by fronting your very own rock band!
Pretty ‘n’ Pink are calling on wannabe stars to register to sing by contacting the charity on
02890 517043, or emailing email@example.com. If you are not a singer but would still like to come along for the craic tickets are available at £10 each from The Empire, and Ticketmaster.
It promises to be a great night with a panel of judges, to help choose the ultimate ‘Winner’, and there will also be the infamous ‘You Give Rock a Bad Name’ prize for the singer who displays the most enthusiasm (if not the best voice!).
Funds raised from the event will go toward the Pretty ‘n’ Pink Support Fund which provides practical financial support to breast cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland.
Wine Inns Marketing and Entertainments Manager Kerrie Malone said:
“ROCKAOKE is always a great night at The Empire, because as well as raising funds and awareness for local charities we also get the opportunity to unearth some diamond in the rough talent”.
