World-famous Belfast theatre company Cahoots is bringing a much-loved Grimm fairytale to life in Belfast next week with an added splash of music, fun and feathers!
‘The Musicians of Bremen Live’ is an action-packed musical for all the family, running from 30th October until 2nd November at Cahoots Theatre in Cityside Retail & Leisure Park, as part of Belfast International Arts Festival.
With an all-star cast of talent (including actors Philippa O’Hara, Christina Nelson, Pepa Duarte, Kellee Broadway and musicians Kyron Bourke and Padraig Dooney), The Musicians of Bremen Live follows the story of Ruffles, a hen with a big heart, a big voice and an even bigger love of song.
Lost at a crossroads, Ruffles meets her musical match in Mule, Bobcat, and Coyote who, united despite their differences, set off together on an epic journey across the desert to follow their dream of finding fame in the city.
Artistic Director of Cahoots Paul Mc Eneaney said: “We are delighted to bring this fun-filled production, The Musicians of Bremen Live, to Belfast just in time for the Halloween school break!
“This is a true family production, set to get toes tapping and faces smiling. We have some big musical numbers, fabulous colourful costumes and, at its heart, an important story about friendship, courage and never giving up on your dreams.
“We were lucky enough to debut the show in the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California, earlier this year. To be now presenting it to audiences on our home stage as part of the Belfast International Arts Festival is an absolute joy. We look forward to welcoming families along to Cityside to find out if Ruffles and her band ever make it to the top..!”
The Musicians of Bremen Live is running at 5:30pm on 30th October and 31st October; with a 2pm show on 1st and 2nd November. The show lasts for approximately one hour and is recommended for ages 5+. Limited tickets remain available at www.cahootsni.com
Produced by Cahoots and Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
