A Newtownards woman at the centre of the ‘Most awkward TV moment of 2016’ has been redeemed by the Cool FM breakfast crew this morning.
Pete Snodden and his team offered local listener, Heather Greig from Newtownards, a second chance at ‘winning the ads’ after a mix-up on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway at the weekend.
Following the confusion on the live ITV show when Heather thought she was the chosen contestant for the gameshow, Pete, Rebecca and Paulo tracked down the local woman to have her moment in the spotlight.
Second time lucky, Heather won a host of prizes from Stena Line, Wolseys Bar and Restaurant, fonaCAB, and tickets for Belsonic 2016, Belfast Giants and Disney on Ice, as featured in the breakfast show’s advertisements.
Of this morning’s show, Heather Greig said: “Thank you so much to Pete and the team at Cool FM for letting me ‘win the ads’ this morning. My only trouble now is deciding who is coming with me to all the various events – there might be a family feud going on soon!
I didn’t realise what a commotion my mistake on Saturday Night Takeaway would cause and how viral this would go, but thanks to the power of social media I am still a winner.
We haven’t stopped laughing since my appearance on Saturday Night Take Away – it sure made good Saturday night viewing!”
Pete Snodden added: “When we found out that the #feelwicklady of Twitter fame was from Northern Ireland, Paulo, Rebecca and I wanted to help ease her embarrassment. Well done to Heather for being such a good sport, and for finally ‘winning the ads’!”
