The Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) has run a series of roadshows to promote its Tourism Innovation Fund and ensure applicants do not miss the 11th July closing date.
The roadshows at Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Belfast’s W5 and Todds Leap in County Tyrone highlighted the opportunities available in the major new funding mechanism, which opened for applications in June.
However the events also stressed the importance of the deadline for applications, which is noon on 11 July.
Administered by NITB, the Tourism Innovation Fund can provide up to £100,000 of financial support to eligible projects that offer unique experiences and services of appeal to prospective visitors.
NITB believes the funding will help local businesses and organisations to grow through innovation and collaboration and at the same time support the development of inspiring visitor experiences and improved visitor services.
Tourism Innovation Fund Manager, Judith Webb, said: “This funding mechanism fully supports NITB’s vision for the future of tourism in Northern Ireland and we have had a great level of interest in it already.
“But if you’re not in on time you can’t win, and we wouldn’t want to see good projects miss out by missing the deadline. There is an excellent funding package here, and an excellent opportunity for businesses and organisations, so we want to see all interested parties follow through and make sure their applications are made in good time.”
The funding mechanism invites applications from projects in four categories: innovative visitor servicing initiatives; visitor experience initiatives; research and development; and projects that will provide international standout for Northern Ireland, including the use of social and digital media channels.
It features an easy four step application process, which can be completed online. Guidance and application forms are available on www.nitb.com/tif or for further information email email@example.com or call the TIF team on 028 90 441555 or 028 90 441569.
