Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) and NIE Networks will launch their 2018 ‘Regional Networking Series’ with an event in Bangor early next month.

Over 100 members of the local business community are expected to join NI Chamber and NIE Networks for the first of 5 large-scale networking events which will take place across Northern Ireland throughout 2018, bringing together a wide range of businesses across a variety of sectors.

The first event takes place on Tuesday 6 February 2018 from 8.00-10.00am at SERC’s Space campus at Castle Park Road in Bangor.

Attending delegates have the opportunity to make new contacts and promote their company, whilst hearing from guest speaker Philip Steele, Managing Director of Denman International Ltd – the UK’s foremost manufacturer and distributor of hairbrushes, combs and hair accessories which are marketed under the DENMAN brand. Mr. Steele will share his experience of business development and give practical tips on growing a business.

Valerie Gourley, Head of Business Development at NI Chamber, said: “Networking is a key component of NI Chamber and feedback from members highlights how important this is with many telling us they have won new contracts on the back of the connections they have made. As a result NI Chamber is delighted to partnership with NIE Networks to hold a series of 5 networking events across Northern Ireland as a major part of our 2018 calendar of events.

“We also look forward to hearing the growth story of Bangor firm Denman which now exports its products to around 60 countries, including the US, Japan, Germany and South Africa, with offices in Bangor, London, Boston and Amsterdam.”

Ian Hunter, Commercial Manager at NIE Networks, added: “We are delighted to sponsor the NI Chamber of Commerce Networking Series for a second year and look forward to engaging with business people across Northern Ireland in the coming months.  At NIE Networks, networking with our customers helps us shape the future direction of our business, improving the service we deliver.  We are focusing on the future, looking to grow our business and help power the local economy.  In 2018 we will be facilitating competition in electricity connections, offering customers more choice in who builds their new connection and we’ll continue to invest millions in the local electricity network, bringing our domestic and business customers a safe and reliable electricity supply.”

Registrations for the event can be made online at www.northernirelandchamber.com.
