There are few, if any, major purchases you can make for £1 these days. But now Marks & Spencer Lisburn is giving shoppers the chance to win a brand spankingnew car…for the grand total of just one quid!
The retailer at Sprucefield Shopping Centre has teamed up with Dalys Garage in Belfast to offer one lucky person the chance to take home a shiny new Hyundai car with all proceeds going to two deserving local charities.
The money raised from the £1 raffle will be split between Northern Ireland cancer charity, Action Cancer, and the store’s charity of the year, Kind Fund.
Kind Fund provides assistance to some of the poorest communities in Northern Kenya and hopes to build a school in the Rendille region with the funds raised.
Stephen Hilland from M&S Lisburn says the team of volunteers will be out in force over the next few weeks:
“From Monday 15th February right through to Saturday 12 March, M&S staff and volunteers from Kind Fund will be selling tickets for the raffle in the Sprucefield mall 7 days a week. This is not during their work time, might I add – they are giving up their own personal time to help these two great causes.
“Action Cancer provides early detection, support and prevention services to over 50,000 people annually, while Kind Fund provides over 5 tonnes of food and supplies per month to 125 children in 4 children’s homes and 400 children in nursery and primary education.
“We’re delighted to have Daly’s Garage on board so many thanks to them for supplying the car. The car will be on display in the mall from Monday so shoppers will be able to see the remarkable prize on offer! The draw will be made on Saturday 12 March so do your bit for charity and fingers crossed you’ll be driving away in a brand new Hyundai too!”
