Leading weight loss consultant to trial Modius

Sonya McAllister, founder of We Slim Together (WST) is set to trial the revolutionary new Modius device, that can help every body get lean. Modius stimulates the hypothalamus; an area of the brain associated with appetite and metabolism.

Sonya developed WST, a healthy eating support system with the aim of teaching people how to eat in a healthy way, while dropping from a dress size 26 to a 14 and learning how to adapt her favourite foods to her new way of life. Now in their fourth year WST groups, online membership and support system now services in excess of 3,000 people who struggled to lose weight.

Sonya an ex nurse recognises that weight loss is not just about food.  Her members benefit not only from her healthy eating plan but her service offers, 24hour teaching and support to embrace a healthy lifestyle including: eating well, moving more, sleep, dealing with stress and even those who suffer with chronic illness.

There is no quick fix for weight loss, which is why when Sonya met Dr Jason McKeown in 2016 she was intrigued in his research and product development. The entrepreneurial pair kept in close contact as Jason developed Modius’ first product.

Sonya said, “Everyone’s weight loss journey is different, we have different reasons to start, peaks and dips along the way. Ultimately it is about finding the right path to lose weight and maintain a good healthy weight for each individual. The first place to start is always establishing the right relationship with food.”

Sonya a busy mum of 3, is now responsible for developing WST, while supporting 9 consultants and 2 new consultants in training and over 3,000 members. Her aim has always and will always be to help others.

“My own journey has taught me so much, from my initial decision to lose weight and developing my healthy eating plan, to a thriving business where I support and mentor thousands of people every week. My life has changed and my choices can sometimes come secondary to my members, which effects my own weight loss,” continued Sonya.

Recognising that lifestyle has as much a part to play in the weight loss journey and building a relationship with Jason over the last 12 months Sonya agreed to trail the product ahead of its initial launch on the 8th August 2017.

Jason’s initial research showed Moduis users lost up to 16% of their body fat after just 3 hours usage per week for four months. Sonya is committed to wearing the device for 1 hour each and every day for the next 3 weeks, while continuing to stay on the WST healthy eating plan and living her normal busy life.

Sonya explains, “My main priority has always been my members, some of which struggle with their weight loss due to illness, lifestyle and other contributing factors; I am always looking for additional ways to help them on their journey, and hope that Jason’s weight loss aid may assist those members who require additional support”.

Millions of people want to be leaner and fitter, and by combining the Modius knowledge in the disciplines of neuroscience and technology the tech start up has developed a radically innovative solution for an age-old issue. Combining the new product with healthy eating and exercise, will enhance each individual’s pursuit of good health.

Jason McKeown, Founder Modius said, “I am delighted that Sonya has agreed to trial our the first Modius device. From meeting Sonya during filming for BBC made in NI, I immediately fell in love with what her and her members are doing and feel this is the only approach to long time weight loss. I look forward to seeing Sonya’s results with her plan and our product side-by-side in the coming weeks”

Sonya concluded, “I felt it was essential for me to trail Jason’s device, so I can give my members a full, honest understanding of the benefits and my personal results. I am excited to see what results I achieve in the coming weeks”
