With final preparations underway ahead of the NI Open Challenge in August, Galgorm Castle Golf Club has just announced its investment in a new 99kw wood pellet modularised heating system, designed by heat engineering company BS Holdings. This revolutionary system will not only significantly reduce the club’s heating costs by 120% but also reduce its co2 emissions by an impressive 74 tonnes of per year – the equivalent to over 1.6 million golf balls.
Galgorm Castle Golf Club made the decision to install a carbon neutral fuel source earlier this year and procured the expertise of BS Holdings. The Antrim based company has been responsible for 50% of all Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) approved installations up to June 2013, and has helped the club apply for and be accepted into the scheme. The RHI guarantees payments for the next 20 years for the renewable heat generated by the club.
