STEVEN SMITH proposed to his childhood sweetheart and 4th generation circus artiste ROMY BAUER following her stunning aerial act.
Romy, aged 28, has grown up on Gandeys Circus, so was a part of the family from just three-years-old! When the time came for her to go to school she moved in with her grandmother in Birmingham and it was there she met local boy Steven Smith at the age of 14.
The pair became very firm friends but after leaving school Romy returned to touring across the world with Gandey World Class Productions. The pair kept in touch, meeting up whenever she was in the UK, and soon they realised they were in love – so Steven decided to run away with the circus too!
