Virtuoso musician from Bournemouth wins the amazing prize
It’s been a wild 48 hours for Adrian “Logie” Logan.
Fresh from scaling the heights of Croke Park with a Saturday-morning charity abseil for Air Ambulance NI, where he so far has raised over £7000, he then squeezed in a quick family wedding… before racing back up the road to The Moy just in time to draw the winning ticket for the stunning Portugal villa.
And what a night it was.
The McKinney Live Studio was buzzing prize after prize, Katie Fox from Dublin was one of many early bonus prize winners across the night bagging £1500, with excitement building for the massive Portugal House Draw. Lee Lawless from Co Wexford also won £1500.
One viewer said she was missing ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ just to tune in to the draw, saying “who needs Ant and Dec when you have Peter and Logie!” As the clock crept toward 11 p.m., hosts Logie and Peter kept thousands tuned in with their trademark double act: fast, funny, and brilliantly chaotic, with giveaways landing all over.
Then came the moment.
The ticket was generated, and the name Steven Mead appeared.
The phone rang.
The room fell silent as it went to voicemail… and then, suddenly, Steven picked up.
Logie asked, “Do you know who this is?”
Steven’s breath caught.
“You’re kidding… yes, I do! I’ve been watching videos of that house all day. I never win anything!”
Logie broke into a grin. “Well tonight, you are the lucky winner.”
Steven could hardly speak.
“I’ve been looking at the ads all day thinking, ‘Someone’s going to win it, good luck to them, because I never win anything.’ I kept seeing you on the adverts Logie it’s amazing.”
He paused,
“This couldn’t come at a better time. I’m going through a nasty divorce, so this means the world.”
63 year old Steven lives in the Midlands in England, originally from Bournemouth, and is a virtuoso musician. He went on to say “I finish work on the 14th December and was due to go to Americal but all the time I was thinking I want to go to the Algarve to sit and just play music and now I can…”
Thousands entered.
One name was drawn.
And that single moment set the tone for an unforgettable night.
Steven now has to choose the cash or the keys…
