BRENNANS Bread and Belfast based children’s theatre group Replay are getting ready to take a bite out of the big apple as they prepare to travel to New York next week where they will entertain audiences with their successful performance of Babble.
Replay Theatre Company in association with popular family bread brand Brennans will travel to the United States to carry out seventeen performances of their interactive production at New Victory Theatre on 42nd Street.
Babble is aimed at babies aged up to 18 months and has been developed in collaboration with local Belfast nurseries. The production is a vocal wonderland made up of live voices, videos and music from award winning composer David Goodall and the unique experience is performed inside Replay’s special bubble which is a portable indoor performance space.
As well as giving babies and their mums and dads a fun, interactive day out, Replay’s Artistic Director, Anna Newell is hopeful that the performances in New York will help to create even more awareness of Babble and of Replay’s work in general.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be able to bring Babble all the way to New York and we hope that it proves as popular there as it did here in Northern Ireland. The Director of the New Victory Theatre saw Babble at the 2013 Belfast Children’s Festival and liked it so much that she asked us to come and do a series of performances, “ said Anna.
“Brennan’s support has been invaluable to Replay’s programme of work over the last four years and we’re delighted to partner with such an iconic household brand which has real family appeal and will allow us to reach more and more young people around Northern Ireland,” Anna added.
