Restaurant Review: Il Pirata by The Gourmet Boys

Il Pirata have a new menu for 2020, but panic not: many regular favourites remain and there are plenty of new and reinvented options to try.

Sadly, they have no lunchtime menu at the moment, and are no longer open for lunch Monday-Wednesday, but they now serve half portions of the majority of their pasta dishes, and when accompanied by Il Pirata’s delicious cichetti, pizzetti and side orders, you can create a wonderful “sharing plates” style lunch at a reasonable price.

Deep fried olives have always been one of our favourites – we first came across these little beauties in Soho’s sadly missed Spuntino. Hopefully Il Pirata with give deep-frying olives stuffed with anchovies a go. Sounds weird, but take it from us, if it’s good enough for Russell Norman…..!
