Zombies rose from the dead ahead of Halloween and were spotted trying to capture victims as they endured a 5K run through hills, mud, water and ghoulish obstacles in the depths of Moneymore forest.
The Jungle, an award winning adventure centre based in Magherafelt, welcomed hundreds of brave souls to take on the challenge of making it through one of the scariest forests in the country, while being chased by the living dead.
The hair-raising run, in aid of Autism NI, was one of The Jungle’s many spooky events in its programme of Halloween events.
Fright Nights at The Jungle, which kicked off last weekend, offers tours of terror through six spine tingling attractions to terrify those brave enough to enter, while the fancy dress Monster Ball on 31st October will bring thrill loving party-goers together under one scary roof.
Former Miss Northern Ireland and health and fitness blogger, Tiffany Brien, who took part in the Zombie Run said: “The event was so much fun! I often take part in races and thought, why not kick it up a spooky notch? I can’t wait to see what the rest of The Jungle’s Halloween events have to offer, if they’re anything like the Zombie Run then I will be shaking in my running shoes.”
Owner of The Jungle, Robert Carmichael said: “At The Jungle we pride ourselves on creating thrill and adventure and Halloween presents the perfect opportunity to offer our customers something unique and out of the ordinary. We are so delighted with the turn out at the Zombie Run and look forward to welcoming ‘fresh blood’ to our legendary Fright Nights and Monster Ball.”
