With the 2022 schedule laid out, another action-packed twelve months is ahead of golf fans. Between the up-and-coming prospects and the return of legends like Tiger Woods, the golfing stratosphere has a lot to look forward to. With that in mind, we’re providing some of the crucial dates you want to mark on your calendar – not just the typical big events – but those that offer a certain intrigue to our sport.

January 30, 2022: APGA Tour Returns

The APGA (Advocates Pro Golf Association) was established to assist professional golf in delivering assistance to minorities who were previously overlooked. After years of very little exposure, the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open welcomed APGA prospect Kamaiu Johnson, into their tournament.

However, the plans for APGA in 2022 have taken steps towards shining even more light on potential golfing stars of the future. Following the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open, the APGA will showcase the talented players on the Golf Channel when the 36-hole tournament occurs at the Torrey Pines South Course.

March 27, 2022: Final Call Up for The Masters

For those golfer’s unfortunate enough to succeed in winning the Valero Texas Open, the Corales Puntacana Championship is the final opportunity to enter the top-50 World Golf Rankings – a position required to compete in the Masters.

Sports handicappers and casual gamblers alike relish their chance to wager on the Master’s tournament each year as the world’s most talented stars come out to play. Already you can find Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Rory McIlroy topping the odds list. As betting odds for the expected winner are close in value, sites like DraftKings New York can supplement a more excellent value with the offers and bonuses they provide.

March 31, 2022: The Chevron Championship

It could be said that this year’s Chevron Championship is an end of an era. The 2022 LPGA will host its tournament for the final time at Mission Hills and the California desert, a location that’s been a part of the competition’s history since it was established in the 1970s.

As of 2023, with Chevron becoming its newest advocate, the tournament will relocate to Houston, Texas.

April 7, 2022: The Masters

Two years absent from the beautiful Augusta crowds, the excellence and overly stacked roster of the Master’s will blossom as it once did when a full attendance cheers on its favorite players.

Hideki Matsuyama pulled the upset in 2021, but can he defend his turf when thousands of attendees provide the added pressure?

June 2, 2022: U.S. Women’s Open

In the height of summer, attention will be turned from men’s golf as the talented women display their skills at the U.S. Women’s Open. It’s the second women’s major of the LPGA season and boasts the highest purse in all of the women’s golf.

Yuka Saso will defend her 2021 crown, but with Pine Needles hosting the event this year, many expect Saso will struggle to replicate the success she found at the Olympic Club, Lake course.

August 25, 2022: Tour Championship

A record 18 million dollars will raise the stakes like never before when the top thirty golfers from the BMW attempt to collect the sixteenth annual FedEx Cup.

A tournament that leaves a lot to the imagination. You may want to set your predictions aside for this tourney, as 4 of the previous 5 FedEx champions have captured the cup for the first time.

September 22, 2022: Presidents Cup

The global pandemic affected sports worldwide, but with the unease and panic behind us, the postponed 2021 Presidents Cup is one of many returning competitions in 2022.

Set to take place at the Quail Hollow country club, Charlotte, North Carolina; the U.S. and international players will lock horns for a historic contest – although past meetings would suggest the United States are unlikely to suffer defeat.

  • May 19: PGA Championship
  • June 7: Golf’s Longest Day
  • June 16: U.S. Open
