Global sandwich giant, Subway, has confirmed today that it will soon open a new store in Belfast’s vibrant Titanic Quarter, adding to the growing hospitality, retail and leisure offering in the area, and creating nine new jobs.

Subway is one of the world’s fastest-growing franchises and the new Titanic Quarter store will bring the number in Northern Ireland to 105.

Under the ownership of Stephen and Keith Tierney, who operates three other stores in Northern Ireland, the Titanic Quarter Subway will be situated in the ARC Retail, prominently located below the ARC Apartments.

The Arc is home to over 1,000 residents and adjacent to the SSE Arena, Citigroup, Belfast Met and the world’s leading tourist attraction, Titanic Belfast. The annual visitor numbers to Titanic Quarter and the SSE Arena, Belfast are in excess of 3.5m, while 18,000 people work, live and play in the area on a daily basis.

James Eyre, commercial director of Titanic Quarter, said:

“We are delighted to welcome such a globally recognised brand to the ARC Retail and wish Stephen and Keith every success with their new Subway store. Titanic Quarter’s growing number of residents, workers, students and tourists have made the ARC Retail a destination of choice and we will see further retail businesses opening here in the very near future.”

Keith Tierney, owner of Subway, said:

“We have embraced the opportunity to open in Titanic Quarter as the area is continually developing and growing. We can’t wait to bring the popular Subway offer to the diverse mix of customers in the area – from people who work, study and live here, to tourists and event goers.”
