Northern Irish actor Glen Wallace will be giving a masterclass at Grand Opera House Belfast this Sunday 22nd May, as part of the programme of performance workshop company, Theatre Masterclass Northern Ireland, which offers budding actors the chance to learn from some of the best in the business. TMNI kickstarted their 2016 programme with the support of acclaimed actor, director and playwright Dan Gordon, and since then have had musical theatre star Killian Donnelly and Abbey Theatre actress Ruth McGill lead workshops for the students.
Glen Wallace is a Northern Irish actor, born in Ballymena Co. Antrim. He is most notable for playing Malachy Fisher on Channel 4’s HOLLYOAKS from 2007, and has also starred in WIRE IN THE BLOOD, CASUALTY and HOLY CROSS for BBC Films. He has been nominated for Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards. He is currently starring in the ITV drama series, ‘The Secret’ alongside James Nesbitt, playing the role of Trevor Buchanan.
The workshops take place each month, with each class structured to offer specifically tailored training and involving an element of three main disciplines of acting, singing and movement. Glen’s class on Sunday will take the students through an Introduction to Screen Acting, offering some techniques and tips about how to best prepare and act for TV and film roles.
Theatre Masterclass Northern Ireland is run by Northern Irish actor Fra Fee, best known for his role as Courfeyrac in Hollywood blockbuster Les Misérables, starring alongside Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe. Fee says, “I have taught workshops for young actors in Northern Ireland for several years and have always been astounded at the wealth of raw talent around. Young performers deserve an opportunity to develop and hone their skills in preparation for drama school auditions and life in the industry, and established performers should have the option to continue their development and exercise their skills in a creative environment alongside their professional work”.
Other guest tutors lined up to teach at TMNI include Film and TV casting director CARLA STRONGE (Emmy Award Winner for Game of Thrones, HBO) who leads a masterclass on 24th June.
Theatre Masterclass Northern Ireland is open to all actors from 14 years old and you can reserve a place by signing up via the website www.theatremasterclassni.com or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
