Cathedral Eye Clinic reaffirmed its reputation as a leader in eye health yesterday with the successful delivery of its Eye on Excellence event at the luxurious Culloden Estate & Spa.
The full-day conference welcomed Optometrists from across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland for an intensive programme of hands-on clinical learning. Delegates gained practical insights from Cathedral’s team of consultants, with sessions covering glaucoma, keratoconus, periocular skin disease, ICL insertion and a wide spectrum of innovative treatments.
Speaking at the event, Cathedral Eye Clinic highlighted the importance of strong partnerships between hospital specialists and community Optometrists. By investing in professional development and knowledge-sharing, the clinic ensures patients benefit from consistent, high-quality care both in local practices and at its state-of-the-art Belfast facility.
“At Cathedral, we believe the very best patient outcomes are achieved when hospitals and community Optometrists work hand in hand. Eye on Excellence is about giving practitioners the confidence, skills and access to the latest techniques they need to support patients every day,” a spokesperson for Cathedral Eye Clinic said.

The event combined specialist teaching with open discussion, allowing delegates to exchange best practice and strengthen their professional networks. Attendees praised the opportunity to engage directly with consultants and to take home new clinical approaches that will enhance patient management across both NI and ROI.
With eye health increasingly in the spotlight, Cathedral Eye Clinic’s commitment to education and collaboration underscores its role as a centre of excellence in ophthalmology.
A huge thank you was extended to all who attended, with organisers promising further events designed to connect and empower the region’s eye care professionals.
Photos and highlights from the day will be shared in the coming days.
