East Belfast Mission has teamed up with joined forces with Bryson Lagan Sports to launch their very own ‘Mission Impossible’.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to abseil down the iconic Skainos Building on Saturday 8th September to help to raise vital funds for the charity’s various community groups, including Aspire homework club, Over 50’s group, Weekly Drop in and Mums & Tots.
Hannah Ferguson, Aspire project Co-Ordinator said, “Funds raised from the Skainos Centre Abseil will be vital towards the work of East Belfast Mission’s Church and Community groups. Every week a wide range of social, spiritual and support groups offer friendship and community to local people of all ages. The groups reduce isolation and enable people to build relationships with their peers, making East Belfast Mission a place where everyone is welcome, encouraged and empowered to fulfil their potential.”
Lianne Mulholland, Fundraising Officer for East Belfast Mission, said: “We are delighted to launch this exciting fundraising event at our very own base in the Skainos Centre! While it might not be one for the faint hearted, by taking on this challenge you will be helping us to reach some of the most vulnerable people of all ages within our community, allowing us to provide social events, fun activities and a safe space for everyone.
“This is truly a once in a lifetime experience and I can guarantee it will be worth it even just for the iconic views over Titanic Belfast, the Game of Thrones studios and of course the ever impressive Samson and Goliath cranes! Why not take on the challenge and change lives today!”
Sign up costs £35 and each participant is asked to try and reach a fundraising target of £75.
