A weekend in nature is a great choice for relaxing with family or friends. But who doesn’t know the situation when the company went on a hike and suddenly someone says: “Do you know what we forgot?” To prevent this from happening, we have prepared a list of what you need to take with you.
Keep in mind that rafting down a mountain river or climbing Everest requires different equipment. In this material we are talking about a hike in the forest, on the banks of a river or the sea in the warm season.
It also matters whether you are hiking or driving. In the event that you travel by car with a fairly spacious trunk, you can take a lot of necessary things with you. And if you go hiking, everything you need should be compactly packed into a backpack that you will have to carry behind your back. Keep this in mind when collecting.
Necessary equipment for the hike
In any trip, the most important and indispensable item is a high-quality tourist tent. It must be made of durable waterproof materials, be roomy enough and have many pockets for storing the necessary things, a tent that has excellent characteristics and is ideal for terrain with any climatic conditions.
Also make sure to buy modern and comfortable backpacks made of durable materials with a huge number of compartments. Do not forget to bring a compass, a plan of the area, a small camping gas stove, flashlights, knives, a bowler hat, matches, a hatchet, wet wipes and other necessary items with which each tourist decides on his own.
- Backpack. For hiking, a backpack should be light and roomy, with many pockets and compartments.
- Tent
- Sleeping bag
- Torches
- Travel mat, air mattress with pump, or self-inflating mat that you put under you to insulate from the ground, which can be quite cold even in summer
- Pillow. You can choose a special inflatable camping pillow

Rules for preparing for a hike
Those who plan to go camping with young children can be advised to familiarize themselves in advance not only with the list of the main preparation rules, but also learn the basics of providing medical care in various situations or take an experienced tourist with you. It is also worth visiting the equipment store, where you can pick up a high-quality tent, comfortable shoes and other necessary things. Before going out, be sure to make sure that your feet are comfortable and comfortable in hiking shoes, because you will have to walk a lot. Parents with small children should choose an easy route about 3-4 kilometers long. So that any participant can say: “I went all the way!”.
Products for a hike: tasty, fast and healthy!
Most people prefer to take fast food with them, for example, bagged vermicelli, but this is absolutely not a useful product for both adults and children, so it is better to replace it with ordinary durum wheat vermicelli, which can be cooked for 15 minutes. Take with you a large amount of fruits and vegetables, white and black bread, delicious children’s cookies, potatoes, canned fish and stew. Be sure to take a large supply of clean drinking water with you, as it is quite difficult to find it in natural conditions. We also calculate the number of other products. It’s not worth taking much more: the norms are averaged, someone eats less. Well, in the end, if you are not going to climb deep into the forest or high into the mountains, you can always find a store with a minimum set of necessary products.
Final word of encouragement
It’s an impressive list, isn’t it? However, do not think that with such a set you will not budge. All personal belongings and household items can easily fit into an average 60-liter hiking backpack (for comparison, this is the volume of two ordinary garbage bags). But food supplies will have to be divided among everyone (if your trip does not involve a trip by car). Take whatever is easier. For example, condensed milk is made in soft packages, like mayonnaise, which significantly reduces the weight and volume of the product. Stew can be distributed among all adults in a couple of cans. Take perishable foods (bread, cheese, vegetables) only for the first two days, then buy more.
And the last thing: you still can’t stock up for all occasions. For the first time, some things may not be enough, but something will be unclaimed. You need to take this into account and adjust your individual list for the next trip. What definitely cannot be abandoned is warm clothes: the climate has become more and more unpredictable in recent years.
All readers have a nice holiday!
