“GET READY” The Show at Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival
5th March 2014 @ Olympic Concert Room, Holiday Inn, Ormeau Ave, Belfast
We are pleased to be able to announce the brand new and original show by Belfast’s very own award winning blues & soul songstress Kaz Hawkins who launches “Get Ready” The Show, at Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival on Wednesday 5th March 2014 at 8pm. Tickets available from Ticketmaster & www.belfastnashville.com and are priced at £10.
Kaz Hawkins new music is a celebration of her own roots and inspirations in music & she wants to bring back a time when people danced in the aisles, raised their hands in joy yet still appreciate her original music with her new band set up. Kaz invites her audience to dance & rejoice in the fun of blues & soul as she sees it. Recently awarded the 2014 Rising Star Award from the world famous Blues & Soul Magazine & being a British Blues Award nominee in 2013 has brought much attention from the music industry in the UK for Kaz & she is currently working on her debut album which she hopes will be finished soon.
“I’m ready to move to the next level in my career now and Belnash is the place to do that. I hope that the album will be ready for Belnash but I’m not pushing myself as you only get once chance to have a debut album, I just want people to see the change in my song writing now, it’s about fun, letting go and becoming part of the music itself which is something I think is missing in local music” (Kaz Hawkins December 2013)
Always one to put on a show this is her biggest yet as she includes award winning dance group Stompin Hepkatz who have just returned home to Belfast with trophies in The Lindy Hop Celebrations in Galway.
Specially prepared visuals will be used as the back drop to the post-war themed evening by Belfast director Stephen Mullan which includes footage of Kaz & some of her female fans in a special video upload for International Women’s Day on 8th March.
The audience will have the option to dress in 1940s’/50s ‘vintage if they wish. They will be escorted and looked after by Candy Girl Usherettes. The evening will be compered by top local comedienne Miss Gemma Hutton.
