Italian restaurant, Zizzi will open in Belfast’s Victoria Square this Saturday (8th October) creating 35 jobs in the process. With an already impressive portfolio of 140 restaurants across the UK and Ireland, this will mark the first restaurant opened by the chain in Northern Ireland.

Renowned for its classic Italian dishes served with a signature twist, and with a range of vegetarian, vegan and non-gluten options, Zizzi’s menu caters for all. The Italian restaurant also offers an exclusive dessert to celebrate its opening in Victoria Square, named ‘Belfast’s Blooming Cheesecake.’ Inspired by the Belfast Botanic Gardens, the cheesecake consists of light & fluffy whipped ricotta, baked on a crumbly biscuit base, served with strawberry and raspberry coulis and edible flowers.

Ahead of the official opening this Saturday, Jo Fawcett, Zizzi’s Marketing Director said: “Belfast is a prime location for Zizzi and we are delighted to be creating 35 jobs. Choosing Belfast was an easy decision for us; the vibrancy and individuality of the city makes it a perfect setting for a restaurant like Zizzi and we can’t wait to leave our mark on the already animated food scene. Zizzi is the perfect accompaniment to all occasions, be it shopping, cinema or nightlife.”

Zizzi first opened its doors in London 1999 and has made a big impact to the casual dining industry. Every new Zizzi restaurant incorporates a feature wall design by a local up and coming artist who helps to create a unique atmosphere and dining experience for that specific location. Zizzi at Victoria Square features a bespoke wall mural designed by local artist Hannah Coates. The eye catching design displays an abundance of flowers, leaves and berries, with bright colours and sharp black lines that offer a stark contrast to the rustic ambience of the restaurant.

Looking beyond the first NI opening in Victoria Square, Jo Fawcett concluded: “With the continued success across the UK and Ireland, we hope to look at opening more locations in Northern Ireland in the near future. We have no doubt Zizzi will appeal to everyone and we can’t wait to welcome hungry customers through our doors this weekend.”
