In Riyadh, Tyson Fury’s unbeaten streak ended as Oleksandr Usyk emerged victorious by split decision, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion in a quarter-century since Lennox Lewis.
The bout was a thrilling contest from start to finish, showcasing the skill and resilience of two previously undefeated heavyweights. Fury dominated the early rounds, but Usyk made a stunning comeback in the latter half, even knocking Fury down in the ninth round.

Both fighters expressed interest in a rematch, tentatively scheduled for October. Fury remarked after the fight, “Congratulations to Usyk. I believe I won that fight. He took a few rounds, but I had more. His country is in turmoil, and the decision went that way. We have a rematch clause, so we’ll meet again in October. I believe I won, but we’ll return to our families and then face off again.”
The judges scored the fight 115-112 and 114-113 for Usyk, and 114-113 for Fury.
