Passengers benefit from travel discounts during summer season
As Northern Ireland basks during one of the warmest summers in decades, Translink is encouraging everyone to make the most of it, with a host of special travel tickets for the holiday period.
Throughout July and August, day-trippers and holiday makers can benefit from discounted fares and additional services, specially tailored to help make transport as easy and stress free as possible.
Encouraging everyone to give the bus and train a go this summer, Lynda Shannon, Translink said:
“With record temperatures this year, more people are choosing public transport for smart moves this summer as they head off on trips to the beach, local attractions and fun days out exploring NI with family and friends.
“Customers are benefiting from a wide selection of discount tickets like our Family & Friends Ticket offering unlimited all-day travel across Northern Ireland for up to two adults and four children for just £18 and our Bus Rambler ticket providing unlimited Metro, Ulsterbus and Goldline travel after 9.15am for just £9 (£4.50 for children). We’re also offering freeday return journeys after 9.30am on Ulsterbus and Goldline services right across the province!
“Wherever you’re headed, there are lots of travel savings to be enjoyed and help everyone start their summer adventures with a smile!”
This summer, Translink is also teaming up with its Charity Partner Cancer Focus NI to support their ‘Care in the Sun’ campaign. They’ve joined forces to remind everyone that wherever you’re going this summer, always wear high factor sun screen and be sun safe in the shade between 11.00am – 3.00pm.
