A couple from Holywood is preparing to revolutionise the personal training industry by combining in-home training sessions with a new digital platform aimed at improving health and fitness through an app.

Carlos Leal Pesudo (34) and his partner Sarah Kirkland (31) have created Training For Time, a new app and website that offers bespoke, custom-built training and nutrition programmes.

The local couple’s aim is to give people in North Down knowledge so they can continue to train and eat well independently in the future.

Carlos and Sarah will personally guide customers, both online and in person, throughout their health journey.

Carlos, who works as a firefighter stationed at Westland fire station, has invested more than £10,000 of his own money to bring the new business to life.

Training For Time

The Training For Time programmes, available through the couple’s website, aims to improve the lifestyle of people by helping them make positive changes to the way they live, resulting in a more positive, happy life.

Training For Time uses a personal, long-term, and sustainable approach to health and fitness focused on simply encouraging people to make better lifestyle choices. It offers personal training and nutrition advice through one-to-one, personal sessions in a client’s home or virtually, via the app.

Clients choosing to train in their home will receive a visit from the Training For Time team, who will also bring all necessary equipment for the session. Clients using the app will be guided through workouts and diet plans through a 24/7 video and messaging service.

Speaking on the launch of the new venture, Carlos, who has been a personal trainer for more than a decade, said:

“We are so excited to launch Training For Time. We’re different to other personal training services because we’re not focused on quick, unsustainable fixes to lifestyle problems. Instead, we are focused on helping people to make better and healthier choices to improve their overall lifestyle.”

Sarah added: “Our goal is to help people to gain as many skills and as much knowledge as possible, so that they can become independent and use what they learn with us to make healthier choices for the rest of their lives.”

Personal training sessions are available on a one-to-one basis, with prices starting at a special offer of £35 for the month of February, which will continue for six months of training for new customers. The usual price is £45 per session. Dual sessions are also available, starting at £55 per couple. Personal sessions include a home visit from a personal trainer, equipment, access to the Training For Time app, diet support and more.

Subscription to the app costs £100 per month, offering a premium service with fully personalised, bespoke training and advice. App customers also get progress tracking, online support and expert coaching. The app features access to a library of exercise and assessment videos and tailored, high quality habit coaching and nutrition tracking – for example – make sure you drink two litres of water today.

Customers can try the demo version to see how easy it is to use the app and the quality of the training at www.trainingfortime.com

The app will offer events, workouts and expert tips, as well as a space to upload a photo diary of meals for feedback and advice advice on portion size, macros and more.

Training For Time also provides access to easy-to-read charts for instant feedback on daily activity, food diary, habit adherence, body circumference measurements, weight, and so much more.
