Tiger Tots Nursery, located in North Down, is celebrating ‘roaring success’ after its commitment to quality in childcare and education was recently recognised at the Families First NI Awards.
The award-winning nursery, day-care and afterschool provider, located at Seahill just of the Bangor Road, scooped the Best Outdoor Learning Award and Best Inclusive Practise Award at the prestigious event held earlier this month.
Set up three years ago by mother of two Adele Moore, Tiger Tots is a spacious, modern, purpose-built facility, with excellent indoor and outdoor facilities, catering for children from three months to primary school age in its after-school club.
“All the team at Tiger Tots are delighted to have our work and commitment recognised by the Families First Awards,” Adele said.
“Our ethos is that the first formative years of a child’s life are foundational for future growth and success. So, at Tiger Tots, we provide a holistic and caring experience to support children’s development, so they can fulfil their lifelong potential.”
Families First Best Outdoor Learning Award recognises how exposure to the natural environment supports children’s education and health, and at Tiger Tots this aspect of learning has been carefully considered.
Adele says: “Our programs, clubs and even the physical environment have been designed for maximum benefits in terms of cognitive and physical development.
“From diet to exercise and mental stimulation, all our activities help with improving memory, strength, coordination, boosting confidence, promoting learning skills and even improving sleep patterns.
“Our highly-trained and experienced staff are constantly monitoring, evaluating and improving the standards of care we provide and feeding back to parents on their children’s progress.”
With accessible parking and excellent transport facilities, as Seahill train station is a 30-second walk and its only one minute to reach Glencraig Integrated Primary School, Tiger Tots has considered every detail for both children and parents, including its approach to mealtimes.
Adele continues: “We have our own on-site kitchen where meals are made fresh, and we are passionate about introducing a wide range of flavours from a young age, from a variety of delicious soft baby foods to tasty curries and homely dishes for our older children.”
Adele allocates a key worker to every child so will get to know families well and form strong and lasting partnerships.
“We develop strong channels of communication, so we can work with parents as part of a coordinated team focussed on supporting each child’s individual needs.”
Concluding, Adele said: “I am very proud of our strong team of wonderful ladies who treat the children with the care they would if they were their own.
“Tiger Tots aims to be outstanding in all that we do and these two fantastic awards from Families First NI recognise the hard work we invest to give children and parents the best experience possible.”
