This August, adventurers of all ages are invited to W5 to discover The Creatures of Phoenix Island, a brand-new immersive experience for summer 2024.
A land of fantasy and adventure, this island is home to giant talking trees, carnivorous plants, dragons, unicorns, as well as the legendary Phoenix itself. Get ready to journey through this mythical terrain and come face-to-face with these captivating creatures in a magical experience for the whole family.
With every twist and turn, this strange world brings new wonders to delight. However, adventurers are advised to travel with caution around the island, not all creatures are friendly. Some have been known to lurk in the shadows of the forest, waiting to munch on explorers big and small!
Situated in W5’s immersive AMAZE space, the latest expedition blends life-sized animatronics, immersive soundscapes, intricate scene settings, and expansive projections to bring these legendary creatures to life; you won’t believe your eyes as they move, talk, and even breathe smoke!
That’s not all. Be amazed by live sessions at W5’s Science Bar, with the fitting ‘How to Build a Dragon’ show running daily throughout August. Delivered by W5’s expert in-house science communicators, these shows explore what it takes to make a real-life dragon through a series of interactive and hands-on demonstrations.
During their visit, eager explorers can also discover everything else on offer at W5. With over 250 hands-on exhibits across eight action-packed zones, there are endless opportunities for learning and fun combined – whether it be building and launching your own rocket, recording your own news bulletin, dipping your toes in a virtual ocean, scaling the heights of a huge multi-storey climbing structure, and so much more.
The Creatures of Phoenix Island will run daily at W5 until Saturday 31 August. This is a walk-through experience and is free with general admission to W5. Pre-booking your visit to W5 is essential.
