The Tesco Taste Festival returns for its 9th year to Belfast’s Custom House Sq (22nd – 24th September) with some new supplier faces added to the 60-strong mix as well as demos by some of the Northern Ireland’s most popular restaurants.
Showcasing Northern Ireland’s most iconic products as well as the freshest new food and drink to hit local shelves, the event brings together more than 60 suppliers and expects more than 25,000 visitors over the weekend.
Sure to delight visitors to the show is the inaugural appearance of Jawbox – Belfast’s renowned gin brand. Tapping into 2017’s love affair with gin, the folks behind Belfast’s Jawbox, will be offering samples and talking to visitors about the thinking behind that perfect gin and honeycomb combination they’ve become famous for.
The Festival’s Cookery Theatre, run by Food NI, should draw the crowds with demos from some of Northern Ireland’s top restaurants and suppliers including The Salty Dog, Dale Farm, Keenan Seafood to name a few.
The Salty Dog will teach visitors how to make its world famous scotch eggs – complimented by actress Sienna Millar on the Jimmy Fallon show in the US earlier this year.
Organised each year by Tesco NI, the admission free Festival, is now firmly established on Northern Ireland’s culinary calendar as the largest free food and drink event of its kind in the province with visitor numbers expected to top 25K this year.
The Tesco Taste Festival offers a rare chance for producers to interact directly with the public and visitors can sample local produce at its best for free.
The Festival opening times are Friday 22nd Sept: 2pm to 8pm; Saturday, 10am to 6pm; Sunday 10am-5pm.
