SUBWAY in partnership with TWSports.org is helping to develop young soccer talent throughout the province and will be coming to a town near you during the summer months.
Run by TWSports.Org, the soccer camps will be visiting seven towns throughout July and August which will further demonstrate SUBWAY’s continued commitment to promoting a more active and all-round healthier lifestyle, particularly amongst the younger generation.
For both boys and girls aged from Y1-Y12, over 700 children will have the chance to develop their soccer skills, while any talent uncovered will have the opportunity to attend an elite Halloween soccer camp.
TWSports.Org has been providing high quality football courses in Northern Ireland since 2004 and has received support from world renowned coach Hugo Vicente, Assistant Academy Director at SC Braga.
The initiative which launched back in April in Belfast will visit towns including Lurgan, Bangor, Coleraine, Omagh, Enniskillen and Ballymena, culminating in Belfast over the summer holidays.
The camps are five days long with younger players from Y1-Y7 receiving coaching during the morning, session whilst Y8-Y12 will be put through their paces in the afternoon. There are 50 places available in each of the three hour, fun-filled footie sessions.
Each camps costs £40, however parents of the first 100 participants of each camp will receive a 50% discount and a free football kit by simply purchasing a Subway in select outlets across Northern Ireland. They must also enter information found on the receipt, to register for a place for only £20. Places are awarded on a first come first serve basis.
Chris Barr, SUBWAY Franchisee said: “With the belief that sport is a great channel with which to reach out to kids and to encourage them to get fit and healthy, this energetic initiative is extremely exciting for everyone involved. The football camps on offer throughout Northern Ireland in association with TWSports.Org will provide the younger generation the chance to get active within their local community all whilst having great fun and improving their football skills.”
The football training programme will conclude with an Elite Football Camp at Halloween for 100 of the most talented players uncovered at each of the regional camps.
Tim Wareing, Director of TWSports.Org added: “We are thrilled to be working alongside SUBWAY to encourage youngsters to get active and involved in grass root sport, particularly football. These camps not only will be trained by highly qualified coaches who will be involved in developing the young players’ technical ability, they will also offer kids the tremendous opportunity to build on their confidence and team spirit.”
