The magic of Christmas has officially arrived in Belfast! ✨
Belfast One has just opened its biggest ever Santa’s Post Office at 2 Royal Avenue, transforming the city centre into a winter wonderland and ensuring that every child’s letter makes it all the way to Santa at the North Pole.
Open from Sunday 16th November until Sunday 21st December, this year’s Santa’s Post Office is expected to see over 10,000 letters make the magical journey north — and it’s completely free to visit!
🎁 Step Inside the Magic
From the moment visitors walk through the doors, they’ll be transported into a festive world filled with Christmas cheer.
Families can snap photos with Santa’s Sleigh, explore a special sensory wall, and get creative with arts and crafts hosted by Santa’s elves.
Of course, the most important part — writing and posting that letter to Santa — is made extra special with pencils, paper, and plenty of elf assistance to make sure every wish is sent safely to the North Pole.
🌟 Inclusive Festive Fun
To ensure the magic of Christmas is for everyone, two Quiet Evenings (3rd & 17th December) have been introduced this year, designed to provide a calm and comfortable environment for children who may find busy spaces overwhelming.
There will also be a dedicated British Sign Language (BSL) evening on 10th December.
Tickets for these evenings are free but required, and can be booked at belfastone.co.uk.
🎄 Christmas Lights, Markets & More
The opening of Santa’s Post Office comes as Belfast officially switches on its Christmas lights, unveiling brand-new lighting installations across the city.
The Belfast Christmas Market is back, CastleCourt’s Santa Parade will dance down Royal Avenue, Victoria Square has launched its magical Victoria Square Express train ride to Santa’s Grotto, and Joy’s Entry is transforming into a festive escape in partnership with Three Cents.
Every street, avenue and café is joining in the celebrations — making Belfast one of the most magical cities to visit this season.
🛍️ Late Night Shopping Returns
From Friday 29th November, late night shopping returns across the city, giving visitors even more time to pick up gifts, enjoy dinner and drinks, or simply soak up the atmosphere.
❤️ “There’s Nowhere Like Belfast at Christmas”
Martina Connolly, CEO of Belfast One BID, says this year’s celebrations promise something truly special:
“Our city centre truly lights up at Christmas — not just with twinkling lights and festive spirit, but with free family fun, beautiful décor and incredible experiences thanks to our local businesses, shopping centres, and restaurants.
At 2 Royal Avenue, Santa’s Post Office is bigger and better this year, with over 10,000 letters expected to head to the North Pole. We can’t wait to welcome families to this completely free event and share in the joy of Christmas together.”

💌 What Are You Asking Santa For?
Eight-year-old Aurá Connolly from Belfast summed it up perfectly:
“I think it’s really magical that Santa’s elves come to help us write our letters. This year I’m hoping for a Baby Doll and Pram — that’s what I’ll be asking for!”
🎅 Santa’s Post Office at 2 Royal Avenue is open now until 21st December.
✨ Quiet and BSL evenings are free but ticketed — book your spot at belfastone.co.uk.
There’s truly something for everyone this Christmas in Belfast — so gather the family, feel the festive spirit, and send your wishes straight to Santa’s workshop! 🎄💌
