Top notch professional service , excellent food and a watchful manager that makes the difference.
A number of new restaurants have opened recently in Belfast. I have visited them all and unfortunately either been let down by the food, the menu or on most occasions the staff. Nothing major, just inexperienced.
Now a new restaurant does have teething problems and it does take a few weeks for them to get into the full swing of things. It’s expected that orders may go missing, you have to wait ages for the bill or they bring the wrong dessert. On each occasion there never seemed to be a manager taking charge or checking on the staff.
Cue.. Peter Gilroy, Manager of Flame; who walks the floor of his restaurant keeping a watchful eye on his staff and customers. A newly opened restaurant on Howard Street in the city centre. The decor is grand and comfortable with a range of seating suitable for coffee, lunches and dinners. The room is spacious and the chillout background music made for a relaxing, pleasant atmosphere.
I ordered “Goat’s Cheese Crostini, Pear Chutney, red Pepper hummus and glazed Walnuts. ” It came on a tree stomp plate and was delicious and filling.
As you can see from the bill above, the prices are very reasonable.
The service was excellent with plenty of staff. All were very polite, professional and attentive. Allows you to just relax and enjoy the food.
I will be back soon to try their steaks cooked on the wood-fired Grill, and the delicious espresso Martinis!
and maybe next time have room for dessert!!!
