Went along to see Guys and Dolls at the Grand Opera House tonight with my 8-year-old daughter and we both absolutely loved it. From the minute it started, the show was full of energy, humour and so many talented people on stage.
The singing was fantastic, the acting was brilliant and the choreography was so much fun throughout the whole performance. Every scene seemed to have something happening and the cast really kept the audience entertained all night. There were loads of standout moments and some massive musical numbers that got huge reactions from the crowd.
After the show, we were both talking about all the characters and honestly couldn’t even pick a favourite because they were all so good in different ways. The costumes also deserve a mention because they really brought the whole Broadway feel to life and added so much colour and personality to the production.
The classic songs like Luck Be A Lady and Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat sounded brilliant live and you could tell the audience were really enjoying every minute.

If there was one small negative, it’s that the show is definitely on the long side, especially for younger kids, but the quality of the performances and the energy on stage kept it entertaining right through until the end.
A really enjoyable night at the theatre and a fantastic production by Belfast Operatic Company.
