Q Radio has added to its record of success at the New York Festivals Radio Awards.
The awards are among the most prestigious radio awards in the world, and honour and promote the exceptional and innovative content being created today in radio stations across all the continents.
Q Radio has previously been recognised in presenting, news and imaging categories, and last year its news team won Bronze for ‘A City In Mourning’, which was the station’s bulletin on the day of the funerals of Martin McGuinness and former Derry City captain Ryan McBride.
And Q Radio news has gone one better this year, gaining silver for the Rethink Homelessness feature.
Five special reports presented by Bob Huggins, David Hunter, Hannah Spratt and Simon Hunter, showed that in a post-recession economy, losing a home happens to everyday people.
The New York judges were impressed with the station’s week long campaign last December which shone a light on the stereotypes associated with homelessness in Northern Ireland.
