This sparkling new musical adaption of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice opened to great acclaim in The Everyman Cork, and will run in the Lyric from Thursday
5 September – 6 October.
For those who haven’t read the Jane Austen novel, caught the TV series or seen the movies…the story centres on the Bennets who have been blessed with five daughters. It is Mrs Bennet’s mission to see them all married to eminently suitable suitors. After all, “it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single gentleman in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife”. As luck would have it a wealthy young gentleman has just taken up residence in the neighbourhood…
The Irish Times commented that ‘Austen’s essential mix of warmth, liveliness, longing and wit has been maintained’ in this new musical adaption of a dearly loved novel.
Don’t miss the “all-singing all-dancing extravaganza that is Pride and Prejudice – the Musical” (Evening Echo).
