Northern Ireland Hospice has launched its brand-new shop in 119 High Street, Belfast, with Miss NI Hannah Johns cutting the ribbon to officially open the store.

The Belfast High Street Hospice Shop is the 25th in the local charity’s retail network, and as well as being packed with a range of pre-loved goods such as fashion accessories and quality clothing for ladies, children, and gents, the new store will specialise in offering Vintage clothing and high-end goods to city centre customers in search of a bargain.

Alan Kennedy, NI Hospice’s Head of Retail, said: “For more than 40 years Northern Ireland Hospice has played a vital role in the heart of Belfast life. So it’s appropriate that this newest store opening on High Street literally puts Hospice right in the centre of this city’s life.

“Every year, we care for over 4,000 babies, children, and adults across Northern Ireland, but we need the public’s support so that we can continue to make a difference. Our customers’ support for our shops, whether through making purchases or donations, is especially important during these challenging times, and helps us to raise crucial funds to care for local families who need it most.”

Hannah Johns, the new Miss Northern Ireland, said: “I’m thrilled to be here today to officially open the new High Street Hospice Shop. I’m really impressed by the great items available here and by the store’s bright and welcoming environment.

“As well as being a dedicated follower of fashion, I’m a keen supporter of shopping ethical and sustainably, so I love visiting charity stores. It is perfect for picking up a bargain that is Vintage and a one-off, while raising money for Hospice’s care.

“It’s also a great way to sustainably recycle the items you no longer want or need, by donating them for sale in the store. I’ll definitely be calling back to the High Street Hospice shop very soon!”

Shop Manager Yvonne Killen said: “We look forward to meeting new customers and donors, as we always need donations of quality, unwanted goods. So, if you’re having a clear-out, please donate items for sale in a Hospice shop to help us provide specialist care for local people living with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses.

“We’re also looking for new volunteers to join our incredible team, so if you’re interested in lending a helping hand, please drop by and speak to a member of our friendly team, or call us on 028 9037 2769.”
