Northern Ireland’s provider of Public Transport will demonstrate how it is using the very latest in vehicle technology to drive down energy costs at an event organised by Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) and System Operator for Northern Ireland (SONI) early next month.
Translink will share its energy strategy at the latest Energy Forum event being held at its new Glider Service Centre at Milewater Belfast on Friday 8 March 2019 from 9:30am until 11:45am, concluding with a tour of the centre.
In addition to being one of Northern Ireland’s largest employers, the company is a major land manager and a significant user of energy, fuel, water and a wide range of consumables and other resources.
Commenting on the event, Patrick Anderson, Chief Financial Officer at Translink, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming NI Chamber members to our new state of the art Glider Service Centre at Milewater, Belfast. With a fleet of over 1,400 vehicles and a significant physical footprint, energy management and environmentally sustainable travel solutions are fundamentally important to Translink.”
Also speaking at the event are Andrew Kirke, Director at Belfast law firm Tughans; Dara Lynott, CEO of the Electricity Association of Ireland (EAI) and Roger Henderson, Network Connections Director at NIE Networks. Speakers will cover a number of areas including Brexit and the all-island energy market.
