‘Folic Acid Habit’ encouraged for Mother’s Day
Asda has taken an innovative approach to Mother’s Day (26th March) this year by supporting mums-to-be and those preparing for motherhood.
The supermarket is backing safefood, the all-island food safety and nutrition body, to encourage any woman who may become pregnant to get into the ‘folic acid habit’ – and stick with it for the long haul.
Fewer than one in five women take folic acid prior to becoming pregnant and with 50% of all pregnancies being unplanned, taking the nutrient as part of everyday routine is all the more important.
Asda already sells folic acid for the lowest price on the market but from 20th March it will be dropping it even further, reduced from £1.00 to 40p for all mums-to-be.
